Located at 2400 South Gloster, the current animal shelter is an old veterinary clinic built in the 1960’s. The building is in constant need of repairs and not meeting our needs as Tupelo and Lee County continue to grow. TLHS has an adoption rate that has grown from 27.2% to 39% in 2012, which is over 2% higher than the national average. We continue to improve our live save rate of animals each year. We are working toward no kill of healthy animals in the near future.
The TLHS Board of Directors recognized the need for a larger, more efficient facility and have begun a Capital Campaign Fund to construct a new building.
Chaired by local golf and animal enthusiast Nelson Gravatt, the Putts4Mutts tournament debuted in May 2005 at the Tupelo Country Club
